The Heart & Vascular Institute of Florida’s Research team is dedicated to the pursuit of trials that are based on promising theories and strong early clinical data. We want to provide opportunities for our patients that they may not have elsewhere. Our research staff is comprised of people with many years of research experience, cardiac nursing experience and a passion for quality over sight. We provide our volunteers with ways to reach each coordinator directly by phone or email, as well as, 24 hour a day number for questions or concerns. We want our volunteers to complete this journey with us having benefited from the one on one oversight and improved understanding of their own cardiac disease.

I still remember my first exposure to a research volunteer in the hospital about 15 years ago. A stroke patient could not speak nor walk. Twenty four hours later after receiving his research infusion, I returned to work and found him walking in the hall. I caught the infectious "research bug" that day. Knowing what I know now, I can't say for sure that he received benefit from that infusion but the importance of research stuck. At The Heart & Vascular Institute of Florida we strive for trials that are based on strong scientific theory with safe, ethical, and high quality processes. We strive to keep our research volunteers educated about their disease and choices along their path.
