Dr. Steinhoff graduated from the university of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He completed his Fellowship in Cardiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has published papers on coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, heart disease in diabetes, and preventing sudden death.

Dr. Steinhoff is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine. He is Chief of Medicine - Elect at Largo Medical Center. His expertise includes echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, lipid management and nuclear cardiology.
